What do many people look for in a game? I personally am interested in a game that can be picked up and played for a minute or much longer. Games should include many levels and different levels of difficulty. In addition, I am always interested in games with good graphics because this makes a game much more enjoyable and fun. This game has truly great graphics and it starts with the backgrounds, continues to the planes, and ends up at the special effects such as shadows and real weather scenes. All of these characteristics and more are specific to Sky Force.

BoxWave sells products ranging from AA battery packs to styli with a built in ballpoint pen. Their products are very useful for PocketPC users and I find the BoxWave accessories that I have absolutely essential when I travel.

Beyond the fact that this game is easily playable for hours, it includes many other outstanding features. The graphics are very high quality for a qVGA display but they still look very good on VGA devices. When you launch the game for the first time, it runs a short test on your device to set the quality level of the game and this may be part of the reason everything runs so smoothly. I played this game on the HP iPAQ HX4700 device and had no problems with it.

The goal of the first mission is to destroy 80% of that targets to complete. For some, this may not be very difficult but I had some trouble completing the first mission but this is one quality I look for in a game because it will keep me coming back later to try to beat it! Another incredible feature of this game is the amazing 3-D graphics. For example, when flying over the light house in the first mission, you first see the side of it, then you begin to see the top, and finally, you see the back of it as you fly away. You can see what I just described in the image if you look toward the bottom of it. The objects also show distinct shadows and has weather in some levels, which adds quite a bit to the game. I am very impressed with how easily the game is controlled. You simply use your stylus on the screen to move your plane left, right, up, or down or you may use the touchpad or joystick to control the plane but I prefer using the stylus.

Everything in the game runs very smoothly and screams high quality. There are 7 great and lengthy levels and 4 big bosses along with a great variety of smaller bosses. This is a great game for playing while you are bored or simply waiting for a plane, for instance, and it is very easy to pick up and play for only a few minutes. There are many other games that are similar but this seems to be much better than the other games and I highly recommend this game. The main reason for the overall rating of 4 stars is because it is not fully compatible with VGA devices but many pocketpc users today will not be affected because they don't yet have a VGA pocket pc.
