This next version of Windows Mobile should be quite amazing because it finally brings non-volatile storage to the front of the line. This means that users will not lose their programs if the battery dies because the safe memory will store programs and the RAM will only store temporary files. The current setup uses it for storage and programs, but the new setup should use it only for programs.

This is extremely disappointing because I was looking forward to getting the upgrade. I have to be honest, though: I remember the long delays originally for the HX4700 and was pretty much expecting some kind of delay. The delay is much longer than I suspected, though, pushing the date back to Spring 2006! We can only hope that HP doesn't run into any more technical difficulties. Some feedback from other users and myself has been that by that time, a new Pocket PC will be available that is better than the HX4700 so some people may just buy the new device instead of upgrading.
